Water Quality Monitoring

The Cold Stream Pond Campowner's Association participates in the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program.

Currently, there are four certified water monitors: Jim Fenwood, Laurie Fenwood, Joel Deckler, Kathleen Baynes.

These volunteers monitor water quality twice a month at two monitoring stations (one in the Upper Basin and one in the Lower Basin). In addition, the CSCOA funds the collection of five water samples at each station which are analyzed for total phosphorous-- the most significant pollutant in the lake.

Water clarity readings for this year can be viewed at the Near Real Time Lake Data site.

Cold Stream Pond water quality for previous years can be viewed on the VLMP Lakes of Maine web page.
